Gainward launches two 8600 512MB boards

8600GTS gets a welcoming upgrade

GAINWARD LAUNCHED 8600GTS using a custom PCB, just like Sparkle used custom 8600GT design, instead of going Nvidia reference board-style. After the hysteria of last week's launch of predominately reference stuff, the time has come to see the product launches of custom mainstream hardware.

The decision to go with a custom design just got validated, since Gainward launched two new boards featuring not-so-standard 512MB memory. First board in line is Bliss 8600GTS 512MB TV DD. We like the fact that Gainward's naming convention is not longer than a typical article here on the INQ.

To get back on the subject, 8600GTS 512MB is a higher performing version of bog standard 8600GTS, and it use a dual-slot cooling. Since 1.0ns memory is present for the higher performing part, this board could give a lot of overclocking fun. Second product is based on G84-300 GPU, more known to the world as 8600GT. Bliss 8600GT SilentFX 512MB TV DD comes with fully passive cooling, so it is a very interesting product for HTPCs.

We do not know the prices right now, but Gainward claims both products support a resolution of 3840x2560 pixels. ยต
