HIS has three cool cards

Computex 2006 Innovation is far from dead in graphics
Wednesday, 7 June 2006, 08:03
INVENTION IN GRAPHICS cards is alive and well at HIS. They had not one but three designs no one else came close to, much less showed off. Take a look, you won't see this in the usual reference designs.

The first one is the HIS X1600Pro HDMI/DVI, an unassuming name, but a really feature packed card. It is low profile for one, so you can fit it in all those SFF corporate desktops out there. It has dual DVI, HDMI and video out, so if you can't get the connection you need out of it, you have bigger problems than choosing the right card. If you look closely, you can see a daughter card that houses the second DVI and HDMI on the left side. The X1600Pro takes two slots because of this.

Next up is one of those oddball cards that wows people, but probably does not sell all that many units. This one, the HIS X1600Pro Dual DVI Dual Interface is just that, it has two interfaces. No, not DVI and VGA, the card sports AGP and PCIe. Not many boards makers try to do this, much less make it work. It makes your brain hurt looking at it.

Last up is a card that you wonder why more people don't do, a 1x PCIe GPU. Matrox has one, and a few others have an odd part kicking around, but there should be more, you can always use 4 more monitors on your box. This one sports an X1300, and is called the HIS X1300 512MB Hypermemory PCIe x1. Everyone should have two to support monitors #5-8 on your computer. Without 8, you can't get an even tan without going outside.ยต
