Preview Crossfire retail card and motherboard arrive
Fri Oct 28 2005, 19:38
UPS AND FEDEX surprised us with two products that we all have been waiting for. Club 3D managed to ship its cards into UK retail where you can find it as we speak, while DFI is already selling its RDX200 CF-DR motherboard.

We didn't have enough time to review both at press time, but we are ready to show you a few pictures. We will work hard over the weekend to bring you some kind of review at the beginning of next week.

Just a few details about both products. Club 3D Crossfire master card X850 card is packed in typical Club 3D box and in includes, Crossfire connecting cable, black DVI to VGA dongle, first time seen DVI to HDTV dongle, six pin graphic card power cable, Colin McRae Rally 2005, kid game WWF Panda Junior in Africa, driver CD, Power DVD 5, Power director, power producer and Media show on a CD. This is how the card and connector look like. We won't get into many details now, but the only difference is that connector that interconnects two cards and let you run into crossfire mode.

When it comes to the DFI motherboard, the board is packed in nice red DFI recognisable box that hides two S-ATA cables with two SATA power adaptors, manual of course, Installation disk and S-ATA driver floppy drive. DFI is also bundling two IDE and one floppy all yellow and all rounded, all the slots on the boards are yellow, that's kind of DFI thing. The board has all you can think off and we will let you know about the performance soon.

Here are some pictures of it, more next week when we finish our tests. µ

Dell Hell

I too ordered a Dell Latitude 830 Notebook which showed a 'Quick Delivery' Icon on the Dell Website.
The series of events:
28 August 2007: Spoke to Rishi Kumar at Dell and ordered a Dell Latitude Notebook. I was assured before I confirmed my order that the Notebook would be delivered in 8 days once I confirmed the order by email, which I did.
7 September 2007: Notebook not arrived, I called Mr Kumar again. He told me that there was a slight delay in the LCD screen from Dell's suppliers and that he would 'fasttrack' my order and I can expect delivery in another 8 days.
15th September 2007: Notebook not arrived. I checked the Dell Order Status Web Page to find my notebook was still in 'pre-production' and the estimated delivery date was now 4th October 2007! I called Dell and Spoke to Mr Kumar's colleague (name not understood) who told me that they were expecting a delivery of LCD screens in the next 4 days and that she would also 'fasttrack' my order, but that 4th October is the delivery date.
19th September 2007: Dell take payment for Notebook from my bank account.
2nd October 2007: Received an email from Dell_orderstatus_notification@dell.com to say that the Estimated Delivery Date is now 8th November 2007!!!
I called Mr Kumar yet again and asked for an explanation as to why he originally told me delivery in 8 days from the order, and why it is now expected to be 72 days from te order date. He could offer no explanation (what a surprise!) and just apologised. I asked about compensation, and suggested an upgrade in memory on the laptop and a notebook backpack. He said "I can't do that until after the order has been dispatched". So thats not going to happen then is it? More lies. So my advice is this, If you want to order anything from Dell, if their lips move and sound comes from their mouth, assume they are lying and DO NOT BELIEVE THEM!

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
