THERE'S A CHANCE that the Playstation 3 won't be launching until 2007, according to analysts at Wedbush Morgan Securities. The boffs reckon Sony's next-gen console won't be making its way to the shelves until 2007 if the Xbox 360 launch doesn't go exactly as planned.

They say that if the Xbox 360 launch goes awry, Sony could still make a hefty profit through its slimline PS2 - which has recently dropped in price to $99 - while building up cash and PS3 stock to ready for an all-out launch in Spring 07.

If this does happen, it's likely us Brits will have to wait until late 2007 or early 2008, making for another of the long and tedious console waits that that we're so used to by now. µ
