IT TOOK SOME time, but now owners of Call of Juarez residing outside North America can finally get their hands of DirectX 10 version of the game.
Under the name Call of Juarez 1.1.1.0 - DX10 Enhancement Pack, Techland.pl released a bonus pack that claims to bring full support for DirectX 10 API. It promises improved Windows Vista support, massively improved visuals (similar to ones from the benchmark), an in-game benchmark mode, improved animations and stealth levels. Also, quite a lot of bugs were squashed with this one.
This Pack reminded us of all those Enhancement packs that came out for Far Cry, which is a really good way to raise interest for your title once that first batch of sales has been completed. Far Cry enjoyed good sales over the course of two years, and this an almost 1GB heavy bonus pack
This pack was seeded to download sites as we were writing this, we LINQed one up, below. ยต

"Improved visuals" that are "similar to the benchmark" ?
Sounds to me like they had one version for benchmarking, but sold an inferior one and are now updating it to previously-existing performance.
In other words, they sold a dumbed-down version in order to make themselves look good by publishing a patch that made it look like it was supposed to from the beginning.
Can't say I like that way of doing business.
But I don't have CoJ anyway, and now, I won't buy it.
