V Festival is new Glastonbury

SHADES OF Glastonbury when, within hours, Virgin's V festival manages to sell out of tickets for the London (well, Essex) version of the festival which takes place on August 19th-20th 2006.

Headlining the festival are Radiohead and Morrissey (Heaven knows he's still miserable now, etc). Anyway, contrary to other reports there are some one day tickets available online line for the Northern version of the festival in Staffordshire. Or so Seetickets.com claims.

Luckily good old Virgin Mobile is still offering a few lucky people the chance to win tickets to the Chelmsford, Essex weekender. See the Virgin Mobile Louder site.

There's a vague hint that Virgin Mobile customers might get special treatment. You only have until March 31st 2006 to enter.
