Giant rodent roamed Redmond in prehistoric days

A FOSSIL OF A GIANT Vole that was five thousand feet long, weighed 12,000 lbs and grazed on lush corporate greenbacks has been found in Redmond, near Seattle.

As Scientific American says today: "The sight of small rodents unnerves a lot of people". Imagine then, seeing a five thousand foot high Microtus Pennsylvanicus offering to patch your software in a primaeval jungle.

The size of the Megavole and its startling experience would likely have been frightening enough, but its ability - like many present day rodents - to burrow would likely have felt like a huge earthquake was happening in north west America. µ
