Bedfordshire police struck by hackers

Trousers, pixels down
Tuesday, 10 June 2008, 23:54

BEDFORDSHIRE'S BOYS in blue are a little red faced this evening after their web site fell victim to evil hackers.

It is infinitely possible the traumatised rozzers are right now nursing their little victim-of-crime slips, anguishing over whether to call the helpline, or have stiff drink.

Caught-by-the-fuzz

The hack made the web site unreachable all day. It might not be so bad but the page has only recently reappeared after being down for essential maintenance.

A spokesRozzer said the web site had been closed down, "until this problem is resolved. The website is hosted externally, away from all other police systems so no personal or confidential data could have been obtained."

"Bedfordshire Police take security extremely seriously," she added. Just in case you were in any doubt. µ
