Microsoft Windows XP SP2 ready to auto-roll

NEOWIN TELLS us that Windows XP Service Pack 2 automatic delivery service is now to be launched on the 25th of August - that's tomorrow.

To automatically get it off your telegraph pole if you've got broadband, you have to switch the Auto Update feature on.

Of course, you could get the earlier version direct from the Microsoft web site, but that was a not insignificant download. This one promises to be slimmer.

The SP2 update includes those running Windows XP Professional Edition Gold, says Neowin. But we're not sure what the score is on the cut down version some Asian countries are blessed with.

The Neowin notice is here. µ
