Prepare your doh. Monarch Computers, one of AMD's darling resellers, is taking pre orders on a first come first serve basis for the X2 on the four models. They say that they will start shipping on the 16th. All the processors carry the usual 60 days warranty. The X2 4200+ (512KB L2 cache per core, Manufacturer Part Number: ADA4200DAA5BV) will cost $ 579, the X2 4400+ (1MB L2 per core, 2.2GHz - MPN: ADA4400DAA6CD) retails at $619, X2 4600+ (512KB L2 per core, 2.4GHz - MPN: ADA4600DAA5BV) will cost $822. As for the 4800+ (1MB L2 cache per core, 2.4GHz - MPN : ADA4800DAA6CD), it will sell for $999. While it may seems quite expensive, it is actually cheaper than an AMD Opteron 270 which runs at 400Mhz slower. Also bear in mind that you will not have to change your motherboard or your memory or your video card; even if you might have to change your PSU as AMD recomments a 0.5KW PSU.
Dabs has a £4700 digital camera for sale. You might wonder what kind of camera is that. It's a mere Photosmart 435 digital camera; the entry level 3.1MP camera from HP with digital zoom and dubious controls. The product is actually in the clearance section. No wonder that at this price, no one is looking to buy it. Google has it here, just in case.
Ebay UK has one sale going on for a Compaq 6400 Proliant Server which has four Pentium III XEON 550MHz with 1GB ECC RAM, two 9.1GB 10K HDD, a Smart Array RAID Controller and the usual stuff you find on a server. You must collect it in Ashford UK. The price asked. A mere £200.
Also on ebay, I managed to get another cracking dual TFT deal. Two 17-inch Mitac LCD monitors on sale here for only £210 (inc VAT but excluding delivery). Item number 5201749181. That's by some extent the cheapest 17-inch monitor in UK - Aria 's offer is £18 more expensive for example. And it might even be cheaper for you to get two of those rather than a single 19-inch monitor. They are new and come with one year warranty. For the actual system, you can get a P4 2.8Ghz with 1GB memory and a 120GB HDD for only £250. (item number 5204019061) That particular system has a G3-like perspex casing and comes with a DVD ROM and a CD writer. Altogether, the sytem costs you more than £460 inc VAT but is more powerful than the one from CRS.
