PROBLEMS with share options which led Apple (tick: AAPL) to delay its quarterly returns mean NASDAQ is threatening to de-list it from the stock exchange.

The firm said late Friday that it will appeal to a NASDAQ panel after the bourse sent a stiff note to Apple saying it was non-compliant with the rules.

Until the Apple appeal is addressed, AAPL shares will continue to trade, the firm said in a prepared statement.

"The company is focused on resolving these issues as quickly as possible," it said. Apple is one of around 80 firms that are auditing share options granted to senior staff. ยต
