AMDzone has the Sapphire Radeon X550 under review. It is a cheap and cheerful card. Even if it is based on the X300, it gets a memory boost and a 128-bit memory running a 500MHz. Add in DirectX 9, dual monitor support and you get a good entry level card which is not that far from ex-mid range card, the X600XT. Unfortunately, Chris did not overclock it or compared it to the Geforce 6200/6600LE. There's also a thread in AMDZone's forum by a member who's looking to spend $100K on AMD servers and is currently looking for some help.
ZDnet France has a group test of nine of the main search engines in this world. Google comes unsurprisingly on top of that list but others like Amazon A9 and Yahoo particularly. Mohamed Afiri, the reviewer, acknowledges that Google's lead is becoming thinner by the day. Different search engines will yield different results with different requests.
A roundup of DDR2 memory modules has been published by VR-zone. Not all major manufacturers are included - Mushkin or OCZ are nowhere to be seen. Also note the surprising inclusion of little known Toki. Over 30 pages, the modules are stripped down and tested to the max. Toki gets the top marks with a very good value for money.
The MSI Geforce NX7800GTX is under review at Firingsquad. With selling prices going well below the $480 mark - Albatron and MSI, absolutely high end technology has never been so cheap. With features like MSI's own Dynamic Overclocking technology, a great game and quite a few accessories, the MSI card is a safe bet if you do not intend to overclock like a crazy frog.
Athlon 64 X2: New memory dividers and Multitasking performance is the new article from Anand. In it, they explore some new tweaks offered steathily by Chimpzilla. He noted some tangible improvements, going up to nearly 10%. DDR400+ memory might therefore be considered should you be looking for a non overclocked system. Interesting stuff.
