Epox Athlon 64 8HDA3 board ready

Powered by VIA K8T800 and naked lady on the box
Wed Aug 27 2003, 12:24
EPOX HAS finished the early revision of its first Via K8T800 board. It will likely feature AGP and 5 PCI, four Serial ATA ports standard ATA 133 plugs, sound card, at least 4 USB ports, maybe more, Dual LAN power with one 3Com Gigabit Ethernet, while the second will be 10/100, and may be from Via itself.

Only two DIMM slots implies that the board is for the AMD 754 Athlon 64, since it only plays on a single memory channel. Epox will use the 8237 southbridge although there's a chance it might use the 8235.

The red stylish box has one bold statement hidden behind the colour. Epox appears to be have adopted the old marketing adage "when in doubt put a semi clad lady on the packaging". We don't have any details about the price yet. Epox will be ready when AMD is ready, we understand. ยต
