iPods feel like crap, says Jobs

It turned out alright on the night
Monday, 2 January 2006, 15:38
STEVE JOBS supposedly dismissed the proto-type iPod as crap when he first tried it out in 2001.

Former Apple man Mike Evangelist who is writing his memories in his bog here says that the iPod music player was about to debut, but Steve Jobs was not happy with the iPod earbuds.

"This feels like crap!" he allegedly said, and looked as if he might hurl his pre-production iPod across the room. Jobs apparently snapped that the headphone jacks had to be replaced by tomorrow and Evangelist had to find a way to fix them.

According to Evangelist, Jobs went on stage with the new iPod as scheduled, but it was touch and go for a moment there. Evangelist is currently penning a book about his memories of his Apple days, which based on the above quote, should be a laugh riot. ยต
