Al-Qaida internet newscasts go daily

Wed Sep 28 2005, 08:54
TERROR GROUP al-Qaida is using the latest podcast technology to push its message of violence daily.

The newsreader for the 'Voice of the Caliphate' podcasts is a masked bloke wearing a black shirt. He has an automatic rifle on his right side and a copy of the Quran, the Muslim holy book, on his left.

His lead story yesterday was that Hurricane Katrina was a "divine punishment" on the great Satan America.

Also included was a tape of a bloke called Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who is the leader of al-Qaida in Iraq group, in which he declared war on Iraq's Shiite Muslims.

The news was posted by the Global Islamic Media Front, not to be confused with the Global Media Front of Islam, or the Islamic Front for Global Media.

Until recently al-Qaida broadcasts have been irregular, but now ads on the site claim that they will now be a daily. Every time the Global Islamic Media Front opens a site, it is swiftly closed down. More here. ยต
