Flextronics buys Iwill

Another domino falls
Wed Aug 02 2006, 11:27
SINGAPORE GIANT Flextronics bought Taiwanese server motherboard firm Iwill for an undisclosed sum.

Iwill became a member of the Flex Computing division. The reason, according to Iwill, is because there was "very little overlap" between the two firms which have strong integration capabilities.

Mason Su, from Iwill, will continue to lead the team, HB Lin will look after R&D, Rover Chen will lead the product marketing department while SS Chang will be the head of the sales team.

Iwill said it will continue to develop high end server, HPC and networking products and extend its product lines.

"From our perspective [there] is nothing different about this acquisition with respect to our current business, please continue supporting us as you did to Iwill Corp," said Gary Lin. µ
