Alpha GS320 revised marks up

What a machine. What a future
Mon Jul 09 2001, 23:23
THE TPPC (Transaction Processing Performance Council) has just posted its revised top ten non clustered TPC-C by performance figures.

And, guess what, the GS320 with 1GHz coppa whoppas is flying like Wildfire on the price performance front.

The original $/tpmc number was $56.62, but Oracle's June 14th Oracle 9i re-pricing made the figure drop to $47.90.

And now, wonder of wonders, it is a rather more competitive $44.62.

With figures like these, is it any wonder there is a great future for the Alpha platform at Compaq, we would suggest.

The revised figures can be found here, and we're amazed Compaq isn't screaming how well the platform is doing. µ
