AMONG THE AMAZING feats of brilliance the all-powerful Iphone offers, voice recognition is now on the menu.

Dial Directions is dragging the Holy Handset of Cupertino into the speech recognition arena in order to give mortals the chance to use their vocal cords when getting information from online service providers which specialise in geographical information.

This latest App has been christened Say Where and will provide users with services such as MapQuest, Yellow Pages, Ask.com, Yelp, and Traffic.com.

Say Where is expected to be a free download from Apple’s App store – all you need to do is say the name or address of a business, choose the service you want to use an... hey presto, the results should appear within moments – in theory.

Providing this service works as it is supposed to, you can also find address details by speaking the destination using MapQuest – Iphone’s GPS informs the service of your starting location – clever. µ
