Microsoft sues online retailers

‘Alleges' piracy on the on the high seas

THE SOFTWARE giant Microsoft is suing for four online retailers in California and Virginia, alleging they're selling pirated software.

A SpokesVole said that the outfit had received complaints from consumers and businesses that had bought software online from CEO Microsystems, Wiston Group in California, #9 Software, East Outlet and Super Supplier in Virginia.

According to Reuters, when customers tried to register the software, they found it was impossible. Microsoft alleges that #9 Software had violated a federal statute passed last year that prohibits the improper use of a certificate of authenticity label.
