Polar bears go with the IT floe

AN IP SYSTEM of digital microwave links maintaining a network of remote cameras is tracking the movement and behaviour of polar bears on the edges of Hudson Bay.

According to Real VNC (Virtual Network Computing), which supplies the software end of the tech, the digital system was created by Seemore Wildlife Systems to assist boffins from the University of Florida to capture images of the creatures as they make their migrations.

The images fly from the IP cameras to a town called Churchill, with each of the cameras powered by methanol fuel cells. The images are managed from a browser.
