Intel raises Vietnamese stake

$1 billion for test and assembly

CHIP MAKER Intel is to expand its investment in Vietnam to $1bn, the firm confirmed today.

The move is a big boost for the credibility of the country and builds on a $300m investment announced in February.

Intel uses its Vietnam base for testing and assembly and could eventually employ 4,000 people, it said. µ
