Mitac to buy Tyan

A case of consolidation
Fri Mar 23 2007, 10:52
GIANT TAIWANESE COMBO Mitac has bought top server company Tyan in a share deal.

A report in Digitimes said the deal was announced yesterday. Mitac already holds 35 per cent of Tyan, which is headed by ex-IBMer and highly regarded server guru Symon Chang.

Mitac already sells servers, but Tyan is a different kettle of fish because its products are considered as a breed apart from the competition. µ
