Even Seattle is better

SILICON VALLEY might have fame on its side, but a recent survey of business leaders has revealed that most consider it one of the worst technology hubs in the US.

The survey was conducted by the Silicon Valley Leadership Group which ranked the Valley as the worst place in the US to run a technology business.

The report said that property prices in the Valley make it too expensive to run an effective business.

The survey said that North Carolina's Raleigh-Durham area was the best in the US. It has cheaper housing and a thriving job market. The region has the best scores for eighth-grade math tests, low sales taxes and affordable utility bills.

Seattle, home to the Mighty Vole, Microsoft was ranked as number two and Denver was number three.
