Flash Player 10 is here

Flash in the pan
Thursday, 16 October 2008, 14:15

YESTERDAY saw the official launch of the new Flash Player 10 coinciding with the RTM of Creative Suite 4, Adobe's premier content creation software.

This simultaneous release caused some delay in getting Flash Player 10 out there – meaning Microsoft got in there with Silverlight two days earlier.

alt='flash-player-10' The new Flash buildintroduces native support for 3D objects within Flash animations and improved text layout for bi-directional and right-to-left languages meaning great improvement on previous builds.

The most awaited feature is the Adobe Pixel Bender, which was previously limited to the After Effects package.

This feature allows the user to enjoy greater levels of interaction with images.

Now Flash Player 10 is out there you can find out for yourself whether or not it is an improvement on previous builds or not. µ

I won't install it, even not for free

And tomorrow you will probably write about the next security flaw in the Flash Player, as usual. Versions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 were riddled by bugs. Why should version 10 be any better?

FF3? Not!

Watch out: It does seem to incapacitate Firefox 3.

But all is not lost: Adobe has a comprehensive Flash uninstaller. Works like a charm.

What did Adobe forget to even update there little notice board block thing so I question is it really V10.

Alternatives

Man I hate Adobe as much as Charlie hates Nvid. I use Foxit instead of Adobes bloated reader. Is there anything decent I can use instead of Flash.

it has bugs

before they start release more "effects" and stuff... why wont they fix those bugs... especially a bug in displaying text... whats the use with all those effects if your text/contents are all wrong...
