Dell refuses to cough up cheapo hard drive

Sweet storage deal turns sour for unlucky owners
Wed Aug 22 2007, 12:57
DELL IS INVOLVED in an interesting SNAFU resulting in at least several hundred very angry customers in Blighty.

Dell UK was offering an external Iomega hard drive enclosure with 250GB capacity for mere £23.86 - less than $50. Company was happy to accept the money from buyers, but when the time for product delivery came, Dell refused to ship out the products, saying it gave the wrong price.

Now Dell is offering refunds and not paying them up immediately, but rather forcing customers to wait for five days. There is a thread on Money Saving Expert with over 6000 posts, and folks are still incandescent and up in arms and that.

Dell's rep did not return our e-mail at press time. µ
