LOOKING TO BUY a relatively cheap gamers system? Check newegg and you won't regret it. They consistently have very high scores at resellerratings and other consumer-based rating sites. Below are some deals from them that will help you build a better gaming computer. Total price of our rig - $956 + P&P.

There's a BenQ black DVD burner for only $39.99, model DW1620 - 16x DVD+R and 2MB cache. Excellent. Then take two Western Digital Caviar SE WD1600 JD Hard disk drives and put them in RAID0. With FDB technology, a 7200rpm speed, 8MB cache and SATA150 interface, it is ideal for a gaming RIG. $164 for the pair.

For the memory, use only branded modules: G.Skill will be your puuurffect choice if reviews from extremeresources are to be believed. At $99.99 for a pair of 512MB PC3200 memory, they are affordable.

And you cannot go wrong by choosing a combo composed of the DFI Lan Party nForce 4 Ultra-D - $135 - and the CPU chosen, a highly overclockable A64 3000+ Venice version at £147.99. The motherboard is a favourite amongst overclockers and has featured in a number of overclocking world records. I would also like to have your feedback on the Spire SP779B3 70mm HSF which comes with a Copper based Stamped heat sink. At $16.99, is it a bargain or not?

Do yourself a favour and get that $196 MSI RX800-TD128E video card which comes with a Radeon X800, clocked at 392MHz, with 12 pipelines and PCI-Express enabled. It has 128MB memory clocked at 700Mhz which would normally be overclockable to something much better.

For the mouse, we'll be wise enough to use the Razer Plasma Diamondback at $49.99. Although it is corded, it will prove to be a real killer. It will be partnered with a IdeaZon Zboard Gaming keyboard at $43 - the latter comes loaded with a pre defined key layouts.

Last but not least, I will go for an A Top AT751W Silver Aluminium casing with a 350W PSU. This case has got good reviews on Newegg and the fact that it is made of aluminium will certainly improve overclockability. $59. µ
