Easy falls out with Danes

Seeks new partner for EasyMobile
Sat Nov 11 2006, 11:49
STELIOS HAJI-IOANNOU has fallen out with Danish telecoms group, TDC, over the operation of EasyMobile. He's effectively accused TDC of starving funds from EasyMobile.

EasyMobile is an MVNO - like Virgin Mobile - but with the difference that EasyMobile only sells its services via the Internet. It's never revealed how well sales have gone.

Now that TDC has fallen into the hands of a private equity consortium - like the INQ's current owner, the Easy Group has decided to terminate its relationship with TDC.

This means that EasyMobile will have to look around for another partner with skills in running a low cost telecoms operation - not exactly an easy task (excuse the pun).

The future may just be bright for EasyMobile, however. The Easy Group has just settled with France Telecom/Orange over the use of the colour orange for telecoms services. No terms were disclosed. µ
