Hardware Roundup Nut case wibble

PHORONIX HAS reviewed the SilverStone NAS NS311 and although it may be lacking in a few desirable features it looks like Silverstone has come up with another excellent product.

With home and SME networks becoming more and common PlanetX64 takes a looks at Untangle Platform and Server which is designed to help secure your network from attack and keep your data and identity safe from intrusion. Apparently this product is the proverbial 'dogs danglies' scoring a near perfect 19.95 / 20.

Our Spanish speaking friends at ChileHardware has reviewed The MSI P965 Platinum motherboard. This board would be a good choice for a fair mid-range machine, performance is stable, it is well priced and is bundled well but it's not great for overclocking or high end performance.

BRnR brings us its take on the first SLI certified case, the Cooler Master Stacker 830 NVIDIA Edition. Judging by the look of the thing I think they can expect law suits from Alienware and time now.

Hardware.info compares Ready-to go water cooling for graphics cards: Thermaltake Tide Water vs. Cooler Master Aquagate Viva, so if you're thinking that water cooling is the way to go to keep your graphics cards cool and quiet then you should check this out.

Foxconn's reputation for quality products may be increasing but its ability to come up with snappy model names still leaves something to be desired, as cen be seen in Elite Bastard's Foxconn FV-N88SMBD2-ONOC GeForce 8800 GTS OC video card review. If you prefer the option of the manufacturer overclocking your graphics card for you and you can't quite afford, or justify the cost, of an 8800 GTX card, then this may well be answer to your prayers.

If your aspirations or budget aren't as lofty as the 8800 series then you may want to consider the HIS X1650 IceQ Turbo reviewed here by Bjorn3d. All in all it's a pretty decent mid range and you get a pretty good bang for your buck, although it's also dangerously closely priced to an X1950Pro card so you may want up the ante a little and spring for one of those instead.

BIOS magazine has reviewed the Steganos Security Suite 2007. Interesting this security suite doesn't provide anti-virus, anti-spyware or a firewall, but it does do an excellent job of encrypting files and emails and shredding files you want to delete and sure that they stay deleted. µ
