Thousands taken in by online Olympics scam

Beijingticketing.com made a bomb
Mon Aug 04 2008, 12:53

THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE are finding themselves without a ticket to the Beijing Olympics after being taken in by an online scam.

The slick, professional-looking Website, beijingticketing.com, which boasts offices in Sydney, London and New York, is actually a scam and its owners have done a runner.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has received complaints from hundreds of alleged victims all over the world with some customers handing over thousands of dollars for non-existent tickets.

It seems that the biggest victim was a Texas-based travel agent, Jolanta Sochacka who shelled out $57,000 for a family of seven.
She said that the company looked so legitimate because its website was so elaborate.

Hacks have tailed the company to an empty office in Phoenix, Arizona and the IOC and the US Olympic Committee (USOC) will today ask a federal judge in San Francisco for an order to shut the website down. µ

Olympic Scam

Hehe, SC, you got that right! The IOC is nothing more than a bunch of self-rightous Euro-phoneys scamming the public to maintain their membership in the Rich-and-Useless Arseholes Club.

I, for one, will not condone the Communist Party of China and their child-molesting degenerate perverted leadership by watching their latest attempt to legitimize their useless and phony lives.

firefox anti fishing from google

I expected the anti-pishing in firefox to be flagging this site already, it's been widely reported, but alas no it's not been flagged yet.

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
