Daamit (AMD ATI) to mix management structures

Who reports to whom
Friday, 11 August 2006, 15:44
AMD'S ACQUISITION of ATI won't get by without big changes. A few months back, when Alienware was acquired by Dell, Dell didn't want to mess the Alienware structure too much. Alienware's boss reports to one of the Dell's VPs and that's about it.

But the the ATI/AMD hook-up will be a whole different soupe de poisson.

We hear that some ATI people will sit pretty in the new management hierarchy. ATI's senior vice president of sales, Rick Hegberg will become the VP of worldwide sales for both AMD or ATI for example. The new company won't recognise two entities and in a next few quarters it will become one company with a selection of brands and many products.

There will be a lot of changes and some people will naturally have to go. One thing is certain, most of the engineers are safe as the company needs them to develop the products and achieve all the other goals they set for themselves .

Too many things are still in the air and unsettled but we will try to keep you informed what is going on, Daamit. µ
