Seti@Home tested on an Opteron

THE FOLK engaged in a search for intelligent life in the universe have put together a version of the Seti@Home client for the AMD64 platform.

According to AMD Zone, that poses a heap of questions about performance, given the Opteron has additional sets of GPR and SIMD registers for programs specifically compiled for the platform.

And now the site has benchmarked Seti@Home on the Opteron.
