Vole holed again

XML zero-dazed
Mon Nov 06 2006, 15:25
YET ANOTHER MICROSOFT XML vulnerability has been unearthed by security firm Internet Security Systems.

Apparently, an unsuspecting customer clicked onto a dodgy site and was going to be subjected to a new 0-day vulnerability exploit. However, ISS managed to use its Shellcode Heuristics technology to protect the unwitting customer from the as-yet undiscovered vulnerability, the company boasts.

ISS' alert about the new vulnerability can be found be clicking on this link, right over here. Sorry here.

Customers for ISS are pre-emptively covered against similar exploits, brags the firm, thanks to its SCH (Shellcode Heuristics) technology. The X-Force researchers were first to discover the new VoleSoft vulnerability, says ISS. µ
