Microsoft unwraps new mobile VoleWare

Windows Mobile 6 to bring peace in our time, say spinners

SOFTWARE GIANT Microsoft has released its latest version of its Windows operating system for mobile gear.

Windows Mobile 6 comes with a few new bits which are supposed to bring more PC functionality to mobiles. This includes better-looking e-mail, viewing and editing of Office system documents. More one click options, and synchronisation with Vista.

Microsoft still gets a good kicking from Symbian and Nokia, but the market share for mobile VoleWare is increasing. Research outfit Gartner expected it to flog 64.5 million units in 2009.

Vole said that it has just drafted in a few Asian outfits who have pledged to use it including Japanese mobile phone operator Softbank and South Korea's LG Electronics.
