SOFTWARE FIRM Microsoft has introduced changes to its update pages and at the same time tweaked Internet Explorer to comply with a patent claim.

New features of the Update software include "smarter" and "smaller" downloads, the ability to hide updates you don't want to see, an "update news" section and better file selection features.
