Hardware Roundup

THE Titan TTC-K8ATB825/SC Athlon 64 Heatsink is tested by Frostytech. A very cheap and underperforming heat sink fan made up of aluminium and copper. It comes fan speed controller which is somewhat rare at this price - under £10. The TTC though is classified as scrap metal, albeit a very expensive piece of it, waiting to be recycled. A very rare but welcome kind of criticism.

The Fuji Finepix E900 is one of the new wave of 9-to-10 MP digital cameras to hit the shelves, as we gradually reach the 16MP of traditional photos. The E900 is quite affordable and generally gives good quality pictures. Helped by a 4x Optical zoom, it also offers natural light setting and RAW file capturing. Card compatibility is limited to xD and while it might rival some d-SLR out there, there are better quality and cheaper options out there.

Hexus brings us our daily graphics card review. This time, a beast that we have had the pleasure of reviewing some days ago. It is the XFX Geforce 6600 DDR2 video card. Great bundle, pre overclocked core running at 400MHz and 256MB GDDR2 memory plus a two year warranty, the GDDR2 6600 will very probably annihilate the X1600 non XT quite easily as well any overclocked X1300 with ease.

PCPerspective reviews a heck of a case. The Coolermaster Centurion 531 Mid Tower casing comes with a 120mm fan case opening as well as a tool less design. Doesn't come with a power supply. It is cheap and cheeful, made of steel and has enough space inside to please most of us. Add to that the fact that it is entirely toolless and it looks like a real steel.

Gognet tests the SilenX USA HDD silencing solution, the Luxurae HDD Silencer. Itis composed of noise absorbing interfaces as well as thermal interfaces, aluminium heatsinks plus some more bits and pieces. Some more scientific measurement would probably be welcomed.

HKEPC has a list of mini reviews that gives you a one page summary of some very interesting products that made it to their labs. One of them is the new Asrock 775TWINS-HDTV. Asrock is one of the first value motherboard manufacturers to have launched the Nforce 61x0 solution and now they have an ATI RC410 based motherboard around. This mATX model comes with HDTV support, a DX9.0 compatible core, Pressler support, DDR and DDR2 support and 7.1 audio module. As for the price, well, it's teenie weenie. µ
