Microsoft unleashes its super lawyer for EU case

Able to leap huge fines in a single bound

CONVICTED MONOPOLIST Microsoft has decided that the only way it can handle those nasty types in the EU who want it to hand over large sums in fines is to appoint an extra strong lawyer.

The current lawyer Horacio Gutierrez has been ordered back into the Redmond Vole hill to handle intellectual property matters. Erich Andersen, who joined Vole in 1995, is replacing him.

Anderson will be based in Paris, but will be spending most of his time in Brussels dealing with European Commission regulators. Anderson is a bit of an expert when it comes to the esoteric legal aspects of Microsoft's licences. He was also involved in the Sun versus Microsoft Java case in 1999.
