Microsoft plans console war with Sony

MICROSOFT seems to be planning to fight its forthcoming console war against Sony over the number of games titles it will have in the shops.

Vole says that Xbox 360 game console users in Japan will have more than three times as many game titles available by December as now.

The PS3 is due out in November so Vole assumes that if it has more games out, it will be in a better position to fight them off.

Microsoft will launch 15 games in summer bringing the total number to 40. If Vole is telling the truth, that figure will rise to 80 by the end of the year.

These will include Hudson Soft's "Bomberman" action game and Capcom's "Dead Rising" survival horror.

Microsoft really wants to do well in Japan where it traditionally has not done very well. So far it has only sold 123,000 units of Xbox 360 in Japan where as Sony flogged more than a million units of PlayStation 2 console in the first three days of its March 2000 launch in Japan. ยต
