Greener houses found more desirable

Al Gore, take note

ACCORDING TO price comparison website beatthatquote.com , going green is a great way to increase the desirability of your home.

Fitting solar panels and wind turbines to your house could well make a home attractive to possible buyers, says the site. The INQ's own Mike Magee was seen last night on BBC News discussing his brand spanking new solar panels. He will be reporting on the results of installing a 3Kw system as it unfolds.

Not only will yer home be more buyable, those painted with a hint of green have a chance of earning a tax break in the Chancellor's budget which is due next month.

BeatThatQuote.com product director Sophie Neary reckons that choosing energy from renewable sources will be a "great way to ensure your house stands out from the rest and appeals to future buyers." It's no surprise, as traditional fuel prices keep rising and rising.

It's a decent investment, too, reckons the site: a nine grand investment for an energy saving system could halve the average annual energy cost of £1,000. µ
