NOVATECH, THE UK e-tailer is already flogging i7 kit to the masses.
According to the company’s site, you can buy a “Novatech Smackdown motherboard” bundle based on the X58 chipset coupled with either an i7 920 or 940 and three sticks of 1GB DDR3 1066. There’s a catch… it costs an arm and a leg.
That’s all very nice as people will get the opportunity to order the bundle toot de sweet and get it delivered within 3-4 business days. Great. We can see you all running off to the end of the article to click on the link.
But hold on…
Over the course of the afternoon, the Novatech bundle was price-jacked. We took notice of the happening this evening but we were still catching our breath from AMD’s announcement, so when we got round to providing you, our dear readers, with the heads-up, the price had been jacked up by precisely £100 (+VAT). Yes, inflation is on the rise in Core i7-land. From an already juicy and plump £652 price tag, the i7 940 bundle now rests on the £762.58 shelf. Unfortunately we didn’t do a screen cap at the time of the price jacking, and Google cache itself didn’t register the page…
You can always try their i7 920 bundle that’s “just” £539.33… that means they’re charging, right now, £223.25 for the extra 266MHz.
That's just retarded..... I'm sure in the states it will be much cheaper.
Credit crunch? Nah us Brits will pay through the nose for new kit....
Looks like they took the 940 off the page.
It's not bad as it includes the Core I7 + an X58 which is nearly £200 alone from overclockers.co.uk price before being taken down and also includes 3GB DDR3 memory. So £530 an't much and about right
I think I will start my own website "selling" "pre-orders" for i7 kit.

This is borderline scam!
