HP brings Insight Dynamics VSE to x86

HP Tech@Work Unix virtualisation heads downtown
Mon Mar 17 2008, 12:24

HP HAS a virtualisation technology called Insight Dynamics which traditionally runs on Unix in the data centre. But in an effort not to be caught short it will now run on x86 Proliants.

HP promises that VSE on x86 will give what it calls Logical Servers, the ability to manage physical and virtual servers at once and “real time capacity planning to optimise virtualisation.”

This is of course great news for everyone who ever wanted to run virtualisation on x86. HP is not put off by the existing x86 virtualisation technology but it does prove that VMWare‘s list of partners turned competitors continues to grow. µ
