Electronic paper factory to open in Germany

UK OUTFIT Plastic Logic is to build what it believes to be the world's first factory to produce plastic electronic paper.

According to the BBC, the Cambridge-based outfit has raised £50.6m to build the German plant in Dresden.

It will turn out electronic paper which is being tipped as the next big thing for publishing.

According to the Beeb the outfit is working on control circuitry for "electronic paper" displays.

These flexible devices can store the text of thousands of books or newspapers.

The factory will be complete in 2008.
