Ex-Microsoft employee wanted 34-foot "moorage" on Lake Washington

But he had a 58-foot yacht. Is Google the 21st century Sherlock Holmes?

The latest. Feussner allegedly took up lots of handicapped parking spaces... here.

AN EX-MICROSOFT employee who looked after Web retrieval at Vole HQ before he was summarily dismissed the other day has left a Google audit trail of his interest in Mustangs, a place to park boats, and of his interest in these cars rather than Ferraris.

Daniel Feussner, who was in charge of Web search engines at Microsoft, the Seattle Times said two days ago, is accused of a $9 million fraud.

If he is convicted, he faces a max of 15 times five years in clink, which is almost sure to finish him, unless a cure for old age is discovered in the next 75 years.

We wondered. Are there are two Daniel Feussners who worked, or recently worked for Microsoft? This is always a possibility.

We talked to the Seattle Times this afternoon and the reporter who broke the story said that was highly unlikely.

The Times has a link to a web site which it claims is Feussner's, and which you can find here. It's bavaria.da.ru - a Russian domain name, and called The Virtual Trailertrash.

Daniel "the indicted" Feussner is in a holding space in a Washington State federal prison following an arrest the Seattle Times reported earlier this week. He's unlikely to be released from custody until next Friday at least, the Seattle Times reporter said.

The feds allege in an indictment that this Daniel Feussner's bank balance had ballooned big time, and he used money to buy a Ferrari, diamond rings, and a 51-foot yacht, the Times said.

However, a posting by a person called Daniel Feussner on this page, on the 23rd of August last year, said he was looking for space on Lake Washington for a 34-foot vessel. It could be a different Daniel Feussner.

And rather than have a Ferrari, this posting on a Usenet group suggested Mr Feussner -- if it was the same character -- was looking to ramp his Ford Mustang up to racing car status.

Again, if this is the same Daniel Feussner here, it suggests the earlier post on Usenet meant he was looking for new parts to help build his car.

Daniel Feussner - and it might well be a different one at Microsoft, also was looking for a cheap used motorcyle, according to this post.

A search on the Google web site using what appears to be Feussner's Microsoft email address produces a number of results, here, including one where he writes in fluent German to a games group.

He also seemed to be in search of an original Steve Jobs NEXT Station.

Truly Google is an awesome force, if there's only one Daniel Feussner at Microsoft, that is. µ
