Thrilling Mystery of Intel Chandler Whistleblower starts

Arthur Conan Doyle, are you out there anywhere?

WE'VE NEVER even stopped over at the Motor City, but an article in today's Detroit News is of some interest to Intel-fixated INQ staff.

It has a picture of a chap called Ammar Halloum, who apparently used the US whistle blowing laws to blow a whistle about the Intel Corporation.

The allegation appears to be that Intel deliberately delayed paying up for factory equipment to bolster its earnings. But there's precious little detail, so perhaps Sherlock Holmes could start a 21st century investigation.

The article said Intel claims that's just a "flimsy cover story" for a man whose job was on "thin ice".

And that's all we hear. The whole article is really about how the corporate whistleblowing business is working out.

Halloum worked for Intel Chandler, and we're sure we've covered that fab before, somewhere along the INQ time line.

The Detroit News piece is here.

What can this be all about? µ

Do you think the move was justified?
