Sun Blade™ 2000 selling like hotcakes

At $35,000, it's an absolute snip
Mon May 27 2002, 13:14
SUN PROUDLY touts outs its Sun Blade 200 Workstation as the "industry's first 1GHz 64-bit workstation" on its Web site, here.

But the trouble is if you want to buy one, the $35,000 unit isn't available - with delivery constrained.

This presumably would be because of startlingly high demand for the unit - at least that's what Sun Microsystems says when you buy one and add one to your cart, like we did. ( here.) The offer ends on the 30th of September so roll up, roll up. By then we should see McKinley Itanics from Sun's least-favourite vendors, and they'll doubtless not be constrained at all.

And on another note, why has Sun marked Blade with the trademark sign on the first site? Should HPQ and other firms like Intel that use the Blade cognomen expect a letter from m'learned friends, we ask ourselves? µ
