Acer recalls unsafe notebook batteries

Sony batteries can overheat, you know
Thursday, 26 April 2007, 10:36
THE US CONSUMER PRODUCT Safety Commission (CPSC) said some notebook batteries provided with Acer notebooks stand the risk of bursting into fire.

The batteries are manufactured by Sony and the CSPC said there are 16 reports of batteries overheating from different manufacturers.

None of those batteries were in Acer products.

The CPSC provides a table of the batteries that could pose a danger, which you can find here.

People using these batteries should rely on AC power until they get replacements. µ
