Medical staff hit out at *dangerous" computer system

Push for CRS to be withdrawn
Wednesday, 4 April 2007, 04:25
DOCTORS, secretaries and nurses at the Milton Keynes General Hospital said that the CRS computer system foisted on them is no good at all.

Seventy nine staff signed a letter saying that despite heroic efforts by inhouse IT staff and the installers, start up glitches have caused big and sometimes dangerous problems at the hospital, particularly in out patient clinics.

The letter continues: "The software is so clunky, awkward and unaccommodating that we cannot foresee the software working adequately in a clinical context."

The staff said: "In our opinion, the system should not be installed in any further hospitals. If it is not already too late, there is a strong argument for withdrawing the CRS system from this Hospital."
