Futuremark claims Nvidia driver scores "artificially high"

Detection mechanisms divert scores
Fri May 23 2003, 19:49
FUTUREMARK today claimed that Detonator FX drivers had "detection mechanisms" inside them that created "artificially high scores" in 3DMark03.

And the firm has issued a patch for 3DMark03 that it said "defeats the detection mechanisms" in the drivers and gives "correct results".

Just what is Futuremark saying here? On the face of it, it's an accusation that Nvidia has been economical with the actualite with the FX drivers.

It has issued a detailed audit report of the drivers at this place but we think the server is being hit hard.

In the statement Futuremark said it was "committed to deliver performance analysis in an accurate, fair and consistent manner". ยต
