A JAPANESE FIRM has made a dye sensitive solar cell that managed to keep generating bijli for 1,000 hours.
According to nikkei.net, a firm called Fujikura sealed the cell in a way that kept all the organic stuff and the liquid electrolyte intact for a long, long time.
Without seeing the specs, it’s hard to know how this thing actually works, but the wire claimed that when light enters the cell, it bounces around inside, rather than flying straight back out again, yielding energy efficiency improvements of between 50 to 70 per cent. µ

So, let me get this straight?

The Global warming effect i.e. the greenhouse effect is actually good for Solar cells, which in turn is good for the environment!

Wow, I want a greenhouse effect in my house, just for the heat.

oh, err, sorry forgot this was an important subject, save the earth and all that, along with not forgetting to pay my green tax's and putting my recycling stuff out, so they can dump it in the same hole.

I think you're mistaken about the light bouncing around in the cell. Traditional cells have had efficiency problems because of electrons bouncing around, not light. Light is absorbed pretty efficiently even by current cells. Most of the electrons that are ejected by photons in current cells never become part of the electric current unfortunately. I haven't read the article because it requires a sub.
