€UROCRATS based in the city with two names called Bruxelles and Brussels are pondering whether the firm's acquisition of online advert distribution firm Double Click is a good or a bad thing.
The commission is widely suspected by the paranoid in the US of copping an attitude towards successful American firms, but will press ahead in its investigation of the company.
According to Dow Jones, the deal could be blocked by the €uropean commissars, who may well believe that Google owning an ad server company which it paid $3 billion for is one step for Goodie Two Shoes too many.
One multinational owning much of internet advertising could be considered anticompetitive by some. The Marxists, in the old days, used to believe if you owned the method of production you were quids in.
