End of the road for DVD writers?

A 680 WATT Purepower PCI Express ready power supply is on review at Xtremeresources. The latest P4 consume 220w at full load. The PSU has ten power connectors plus four for SATA devices. On top of that, it is virtually silent at 17dBA.

XBitlabs explores in details the performances and specs of the latest DVD writer from BenQ. The DW1620A is probably one of the last traditional DVD writers to which nothing much can be added.

Another DVD writer review at CDRlabs as they uncover the latest from NEC, the ND-3520A which is the cheapest and nastiest 16x DVD writer in UK costing under £30+VAT somewhere on the interweb.

Two motherboard reviews from hardwarezone. First the Gigabyte GA-8GPNXP Du which features the i915P chipset. Another member of the feature-ladden 8-sigma motherboard range. The second one also comes from Gigabyte but from its performance extreme series. The GA-8I915P Duo Pro has less features but concentrates more on performance.

More reviews of the Intel Pentium 660 and 3.73GHz XE at PC perspective, beyond3D and tweaktown. They all highlight the fact that Intel's latest processors are a welcome addition to its line of products. Unfortunately it doesn't do much to improve Chipzilla's performance against AMD's Athlons and Opterons and its own existing processors. µ
